Marisha was born in Missoula and raised in Butte, Montana. Marisha attended Montana Tech and earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health and a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene.
Marisha began her career working and Environmental Safety and Health Coordinator working for Boise Cascade in Western Washington. Tiring of the rain and wanting to be closer to family Marisha and her young family relocated to Spokane where she began working for Whitworth University.
Throughout Marishas tenure at Whitworth, the university and her role changed dramatically. Marisha developed the campus safety program, comprehensive emergency response plan, and began the development of a risk management program.
After her time with Whitworth, Marisha worked for the Department of Education conducting safety audits throughout the country. This opportunity provided an amazing experience and allowed Marisha to experience how geographic areas vary in risk culture.
Marisha returned to the Pacific Northwest and filled the role of Regional Safety Manager for TCM, a mechanical contractor based in Portland.
Currently, Marisha is the Director of Risk and Compliance for Christensen, Inc. which is the largest petroleum distribution company in the Pacific Northwest. Marisha focuses her time on ERM development, developing and tracking Corporate Risk KPIs, and managing the corporations compliance programs, as well as managing all broker relationships.
Marisha is a member of both the ASSP and RIMS.
